In response to continued economic conditions, the Kearney Board of Aldermen approved the attached ORDINANCE, offering single-family residential building permits at a reduced fee. The goal of this program is to again increase housing development and to provide sub-contractors and other related local businesses an opportunity to bid on work created by the program.

Key portions of the program include:

• Building permit fees are reduced to $300.00;
• Up to 25 single-family building permits can be issued through June 30, 2010
• The separate $600 water district fee in Oakwood Estates and $75 water meter deposit still apply;
• Proof of bid solicitation from local businesses for materials, supplies, services, equipment and appliances is required;
• Foundations must be completed within 30 days;
• Final occupancy must be issued within one (1) year of issuance;
• Permits cannot be assigned to another builder.

Copies of a current sub-contractor list are available upon request at City Hall, or by clicking HERE.
