On January 17, 2012, the Kearney Board of Aldermen approved Ordinance 1182-2011, extending the issuance of residential building permits at the discounted rate of $0 through June 30, 2012.

The following details also apply:

• Proof of bid solicitation from local contractors IS NOT required;
• The separate $600 water district fee in Oakwood Estates and the $75 water meter deposit still apply;
• Foundations must be completed within 30 days;
• Final occupancy must be issued within one (1) year of issuance;
• Permits cannot be assigned to another builder.

Contractors should take this opportunity to update their occupation license.
