Tax Increment Financing (TIF)
Information

The City of Kearney has received and approved a funding agreement with Star Acquisitions, LLC (Tim Harris of Liberty) to review a forthcoming TIF plan involving a retail development proposed to be located at the Southeast corner of I 35 and 92 Highways.

As a result, two meetings have been scheduled for the Kearney TIF Commission. The first meeting shall be held on Tuesday, November 3rd at 6:30 p.m. at Kearney City Hall. At this meeting, the TIF Commission will receive reports on the current status of the two previously approved TIF's, and will also receive a briefing on the TIF process from our TIF Attorneys and financial advisors. This is a public meeting, and is invited to attend, although this is NOT a hearing for citizens to speak.

The TIF Plan will be presented and considered by the Kearney TIF Commission at a public hearing scheduled on Monday, November 9th at 6:30 p.m. This is a Public Hearing held for the purpose of receiving evidence and public comment, and the public is invited to attend and participate.
